You ARE Good Enough!

The main purpose of this blog has always been to uplift others. I am typically a very positive person who likes to share the hope and love I have with all of you. But I don’t want to try and fool people into thinking my life is rainbows and sunshine all the time.  There are plenty of times I  feel down and out. One of the main places I write from are the experiences I’m having or have had in life.

One of the hardest things I’ve had to deal with is a sense of rejection. It’s basically been the running theme of my life. The worst of it happened during adolescence, which unfortunately had a huge impact on my feelings of self worth. Although I am in a far better place now than I ever have been, negative feelings from the past still rear their ugly head from time to time. Continue reading

The Next Step

There are a lot different ways to live your life in this big, crazy world.  Many of us will grow up, get a job, buy a house, maybe get married and have a family, and will just continue in the great circle of life until the good Lord calls them home.  Is there anything wrong with this?  I’m not saying that necessarily.  As long as you’re happy in what you’re doing!

Many however, are not happy.  They become stuck in a rut and life just becomes just a series of ho-hum days, which turn into ho-hum weeks, months and finally…years.

My friends, we are meant to live for so much more than this!  I speak from experience.  I was that person, going to the same ho-hum job every day, just doing what I felt I had to do.  But then I heard God’s call to me, telling me it was time for a change.  That He had much bigger plans for me.

A Simple Thanks

When I started out with this blog last year, I just had one goal in mind. To change the world! Not by what I had to say, but what God wanted me to say. I wanted to set the world on fire. I still do. But after a year I have realized just how slow a process that is. And what I have learned over this past year, is that I’m totally fine with that. All in God’s timing, not my own.

I have realized that even if I just impact one person, I am still making a difference. I have big hopes and dreams, but you cannot set the world ablaze in an instant. It is a gradual buildup. And even now, I still don’t know how brightly my flame is going to glow, but that’s ok. All that matters is that it’s there for people to see.

This past year has been a lesson in patience, but I am so very excited for what the future holds. I have no doubt that God is using this time to build things up. No matter how slow the process, the timing will be perfect in the end. This I know. I have seen God’s hand in my life and I am so very grateful. I know He is working things out for me. Whatever impact I am supposed to make in this world, will come to pass. No matter how big or small. Thank you, Lord, for the opportunity to serve You.  Amen.

Facing the Winds of Change

It’s interesting how life moves with its different ebbs and flows.  You think you have things all figured out one minute when suddenly something happens and changes everything.  Sometimes for the better, sometimes the worse.  We go about our days making plans when in reality, you never really know what could happen from day to day.

It’s good to make plans, of course.  To have goals and dreams in mind that we want to accomplish.  But it’s also important to remember Who is truly in control.  If something you planned isn’t going as expected, try to take a step back and look at the bigger picture.  It’s not always easy to see things from God’s perspective, but it is important to trust His will for your life.  Nothing is by accident.   Continue reading

The Truth Behind the Lies

I am writing today about self esteem and learning to overcome negative thoughts and self perception.  So often we allow what others think of us determine what we think about ourselves.  This is not how it should be.  Don’t let others control you with their opinions.  Don’t let them put you in a box that you feel you must live inside just because someone else said so.

As soon as the negative thoughts enter your mind you need to reject them and know that they are a lie.  Don’t let them take residence and sway how you feel about yourself because once that happens, it can be a real slippery slope Continue reading

Where Is The Love?

Typically I am an easy-going, lighthearted type of soul, but all of the violent acts that have been occurring recently have given me a heavy heart.  It is incredibly sad to see so much violence between our fellow mankind.

How has this country gotten so out of hand?  How have we as a society become so hateful towards each other?  I really feel that these recent events should serve as a wake up call to us all.

There appears to be so little love in this world that one might doubt its existence entirely.

But friends, I am here to tell you that it does exist.  It is just the acts of the hateful ones that get all the attention.  But when I see the caring souls coming to the aid of those in need, the people that give their time to comfort the hurting, donating their money, supplies, even blood…this is when I see that, in fact, love is still alive and well.  Sadly, it sometimes takes tragic events like these to see it.

Make no mistake, we are at war.  Perhaps not one that we can see with our eyes just yet, but a war none the less.  Love is under attack.  Goodness and kindness are under attack.  The evil ones of this world want us to believe all hope is lost, but it isn’t.

For those of us with caring hearts full of love, now is the time to show it.  The world needs to see that now more than ever.  Whatever kindness, love and light we can put out into the world, do it with all your might.  Don’t buy into the fear mentality.  For we need to overcome the darkness with light, the light God has given each of us.  Through our love towards others, prayers and acts of kindness, He will be magnified and this world will be healed.

So go, pay it forward.  Let someone know you care.  Give them a kind word.  Offer something to someone that could never be repaid.  You never know just who may need it.  Through our acts together, we can change this world.  It is up to us to make the difference.  No one else.

Sending love and light to you all.  If there is anything you would like me to pray for, please let me know.

Loving Others As Yourself

I am always looking for my next directive from the Lord.  Always asking what I should be doing and what’s next for my life.  Oftentimes I think we are looking for crystal clear directions.  We want God to say, “go here, do this, tomorrow do that”.  But sometimes it’s not about one specific plan.

The other day He responded by instructing me simply to reach out to others by lifting them up with encouragement, love and support.

Directive received!  So what exactly does that look like?

Perhaps it’s simply about taking the time to put others first and showing them you care.  To put their needs before your own.  People need encouragement.  They need to feel valued, loved and appreciated and that they matter.  Perhaps that’s why today’s society has become so disconnected.  People aren’t getting those needs met, so we just continue to disengage.  It’s a domino effect.  But it’s time we start picking up the pieces and turn this ship around.

I’m going to put my heart completely out in the open here to give you a little background about things I’ve experienced along my journey through life… Continue reading
