Where Is The Love?

Typically I am an easy-going, lighthearted type of soul, but all of the violent acts that have been occurring recently have given me a heavy heart.  It is incredibly sad to see so much violence between our fellow mankind.

How has this country gotten so out of hand?  How have we as a society become so hateful towards each other?  I really feel that these recent events should serve as a wake up call to us all.

There appears to be so little love in this world that one might doubt its existence entirely.

But friends, I am here to tell you that it does exist.  It is just the acts of the hateful ones that get all the attention.  But when I see the caring souls coming to the aid of those in need, the people that give their time to comfort the hurting, donating their money, supplies, even blood…this is when I see that, in fact, love is still alive and well.  Sadly, it sometimes takes tragic events like these to see it.

Make no mistake, we are at war.  Perhaps not one that we can see with our eyes just yet, but a war none the less.  Love is under attack.  Goodness and kindness are under attack.  The evil ones of this world want us to believe all hope is lost, but it isn’t.

For those of us with caring hearts full of love, now is the time to show it.  The world needs to see that now more than ever.  Whatever kindness, love and light we can put out into the world, do it with all your might.  Don’t buy into the fear mentality.  For we need to overcome the darkness with light, the light God has given each of us.  Through our love towards others, prayers and acts of kindness, He will be magnified and this world will be healed.

So go, pay it forward.  Let someone know you care.  Give them a kind word.  Offer something to someone that could never be repaid.  You never know just who may need it.  Through our acts together, we can change this world.  It is up to us to make the difference.  No one else.

Sending love and light to you all.  If there is anything you would like me to pray for, please let me know.
