Perfectly Imperfect

Today is one of those days where I am really feeling my flaws. As much as we hate to admit it sometimes, we all have them. If you think you don’t, you are just fooling yourself. But what I have learned over time is that it is perfectly normal. Nobody is perfect, except for Jesus that is.

I oftentimes find myself trying to act like I never make mistakes. I am a perfectionist by nature, I admit that. Though that has dulled over the years as well. I have finally come to terms with and accepted the fact that neither I, nor anyone else on this earth, will ever be perfect. Even so, I still find myself trying to be all things to all people.

I have learned that God knows that we are all flawed. Every single one of us.

Yet he loves us anyway. That is the most amazing part. God’s grace covers every imperfection and flaw in us. Past, present, and future.

Knowing this, we should also have compassion and understanding when we see flaws in others. No one wants to be judged. Only loved and accepted.

So I offer you this challenge. The next time you want to look at someone else’s imperfection and judge, look at them with compassion and know that you are just as flawed. Seek to accept and understand instead of judge. God loves us all and accepts us all as we are. Perfectly imperfect.

Blessings and much love to you all!
