I’m Just a Soul Whose Intentions Are Good

This is a rotten world that we live in.  How’s that for a starter line!  Let me correct that by saying, this is a beautiful world we live in!

Wait, what?  Those are two totally contradictory statements.  What’s up with that?

Well, this world is not a rotten world at all.  It’s a beautiful world that God created.  What makes it rotten are the evil deeds of mankind against each other.  Sin.  Sin is what makes this a rotten world.

And here’s the worst part.  We are such a terrible society with how we treat each other that when someone does something out of pure kindness and love, your motives are questioned.  People don’t trust it.

I suppose it is a good thing to question since there are so many wolves in sheep’s clothing roaming around in this world looking to take advantage where they can.  But that’s the tragedy of it all right there.  The ones with ill intentions make it so difficult for those of us with good ones.

So what are we to do?  All we can do really is just remain persistent and consistent.  Continue to pour your love out onto others even when they question you.  Even when it is not deserved.  Mean what you say and say what you mean.  Follow through on your promises.  Be a person of integrity in a world that falls farther away from that every day.

Yes, there will always be those that doubt you, but stand firm.  It will be a test and very frustrating at times, but don’t give up.  You may feel foolish when you are rejected.  Love anyway.  This world needs to see the love that you have to give.  That’s what will heal us, one broken soul at a time.

Love others so much that it doesn’t makes sense.  For that is how God loves us.  So much so that He sent His only Son to take our sin away from us (John 3:16).  This is the definition of selfless love.  When we accept Christ into our lives, our sins are forgiven.  What’s even more amazing is that all He asks is that we love Him and others in return (Matthew 22:36-40).

Friends, know that love is real, and as such, God is real.  Don’t give up hope, for He is with us even unto the end of this age (Matthew 28:20).  Amen.
