Facing the Winds of Change

It’s interesting how life moves with its different ebbs and flows.  You think you have things all figured out one minute when suddenly something happens and changes everything.  Sometimes for the better, sometimes the worse.  We go about our days making plans when in reality, you never really know what could happen from day to day.

It’s good to make plans, of course.  To have goals and dreams in mind that we want to accomplish.  But it’s also important to remember Who is truly in control.  If something you planned isn’t going as expected, try to take a step back and look at the bigger picture.  It’s not always easy to see things from God’s perspective, but it is important to trust His will for your life.  Nothing is by accident.  His way is always the best way, even if we might not understand it completely.

I know I am guilty of assuming I know what is best for my life.  I envision where I want to go in life, and then I hit the ground running.  Full steam ahead!  I forget that sometimes God needs to work things out in His timing, not mine.  I get frustrated when it feels like things stall out.  But it is those times when I am reminded that I am not the one in control.  It puts me back in my place.  I know God wants the best for me, just as He does for all His children.  So, I pray for patience and guidance while I wait.

I can feel the winds of change blowing strongly in my own life right now.  I feel one door closing, and am looking for the next one to open.  I may not know exactly where I am headed, but I know Who does, so that brings me peace.  I count my blessings, because they are many.  I give thanks for all He has provided me and am also thankful for His hand in my life.

It’s not an easy task to feel at ease when things seem uncertain.  Anxiety kicks in for the fear of the unknown.  That’s just natural.  And that is where so many people fail, myself included.  We need to pray and meditate on His word and the promises He has given us in times of uncertainty.  That is what will give us hope.

My friends, if you are going through an uncertain time right now, know that all will truly be alright in the end.  God is working in your life.  You may not know all the answers just yet, but He does.  Take it one day at a time.  One moment at a time even.  Trust the fact that He is in control and only wants what is best for you.  No doubt that one day you will look back and it will all be crystal clear.
